Zane De Decker

After graduating with Honors and earning a Post Graduate Degree in Property Studies from the University of Cape Town, Zane embarked on a successful career in the real estate industry. He kick-started his professional journey by joining esteemed property portfolios such as Old Mutual and the Public Investment Corporation (PIC), where he assumed responsibility for overseeing a diverse range of large-scale projects and acquisitions, including the renowned V&A Waterfront.

Driven by his passion for innovation and development, Zane ventured into entrepreneurship after his tenure at PIC, establishing his first company, Proventus Property. Through Proventus Property, he spearheaded the initiation, design, and management of numerous residential and commercial developments, with a particular focus on creating modern-living environments and luxury residential estates.

In 2017, Zane took his expertise to new heights by co-founding Flyt Property Investment, a dynamic Joint Venture between Proventus Property and a prominent financial partner. As the leader of Flyt, Zane is dedicated to identifying and executing investment opportunities that not only generate value for shareholders but also make a positive contribution to the ever-evolving built environment landscape of the Cape region.

With an extensive career spanning over two decades, Zane has amassed a wealth of technical and practical expertise in the realms of property, asset and development management.

Darryn van der Poel

Darryn is a seasoned professional in the built environment field, boasting extensive expertise in sourcing, assembling, and finalising real estate transactions for a diverse range of clients. His client base includes listed capital, private equity, and ultra-high net worth individuals, and he operates across various property sub-sectors, including retail shopping centres, industrial properties, commercial spaces, residential developments, and student accommodations. Darryn’s impressive portfolio also encompasses new project developments, showcasing his comprehensive understanding of the industry.

With a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Finance and Economics as his foundation, Darryn has dedicated the past 15 years of his career to engaging in exceptional commercial projects within the realms of financial advisory, property, and corporate consulting. His primary focus has been on asset management and safeguarding long-term client value. Notable highlights of his career include holding the position of Director at a family-owned boutique property firm, where he excelled in structuring alternative investment deals for FirstRand clients. Additionally, Darryn has been involved in noteworthy Carbon Credit and Renewable Energy consulting projects, further expanding his diverse skill set.

Having previously crossed paths with members of the Flyt Property team, Darryn is thrilled to join the organisation as an Investment Consultant. Through his extensive knowledge, expertise and global business network, he is determined to create and enhance shareholder value for investors. Darryn’s passion for the industry and his commitment to delivering exceptional results makes him an invaluable asset to the Flyt Property team.

Julia Venter

Julia is an administrative guru, ensuring seamless and efficient operations within our Flyt team. Her composed demeanour and exceptional organisational skills contribute to the smooth functioning of our daily activities.

Julia’s educational background reflects her commitment to personal and professional growth. She began by obtaining a certificate in Industrial and Organisational Psychology at UNISA, South Africa. Her academic pursuits continued as she achieved a BA in International Relations and Management from the University of Applied Sciences in Regensburg, Germany, followed by an MSc in International Business and Management from Liverpool John Moores University in the UK.

Known for her strong work ethic, Julia thrives on challenges and willingly steps outside her comfort zone. She firmly believes that every person she encounters has the potential to inspire her, should she choose to embrace their influence. This optimistic outlook extends to all aspects of her life, from her interactions with people to her dedication to her work. Julia’s infectious enthusiasm and inspirational approach leave a lasting impression on those around her.

Nicolene Pepe

Born in George and raised in picturesque Paarl, Nicolene studied Senior Bookkeeping at Boland and Boston College. She began her career in 2013 in the finance department of a transport company and transitioned in 2017 to an accounting clerk role at an accounting firm.

In 2021, Nicolene joined Flyt Property Investment, where she currently manages bookkeeping for the Flyt group as well as the rental pool management of the companies under Wink ApartHotels. Nicolene attributes her career satisfaction to working with a talented team and has found her fit at Flyt.

Her greatest career achievement is the invaluable experience gained at the accounting firm, which laid the foundation for her success at Flyt. Outside of work, Nicolene enjoys arts and crafts and reading. She is committed to advancing her career in finance and enjoys working in the property sector.
